Ideal Felt: a sustainable felt

The environment is a concern for us all, including large companies. Ideal Felt provides its services precisely with this in mind. We strive to limit our ecological footprint, from production to delivery of our felt fabrics, and to provide a sustainable product.

Our felt: in harmony with the environment

For ecological considerations, Ideal Felt provides various sustainable products, in particular:

  • Felt made from high quality wool: a natural, sustainable, renewable and biologically degradable material;
  • Synthetic felt based on polyester. Some of our synthetic felts are made using a percentage of recycled fibres.

Our range includes felts with an Oeko-tex 100 label. Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX is a testing and certification system based on a comprehensive, strict catalogue of measurements with hundreds of individual controlled substances. It takes into account in particular important legal requirements concerning banned substances such as azo dyes, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium and nickel.

Conscious energy consumption for our felt

Ideal Felt believes that conscious felt production extends to energy consumption. The company has therefore installed solar panels to generate its own electricity. These panels generate more green energy than is required for felt production without CO2 emissions.

We also try to limit the environmental impact of our deliveries: the optimized size of our pallets enables us to limit the number of vehicles and thus our CO2 emissions. For the sizes of our felt rolls, we rely on our most important customers to avoid excessive cutting waste, which is yet another ecological measure.

You will find more information on our felt production here. If you have any questions about our ecological commitment and our felt fabrics / technical textiles, do not hesitate to contact us. We would be delighted to provide more details.
